Wednesdays We Wear.. BLACK

If there's one thing I've learned about fashion, it's that you could never go wrong wearing black and white! Overalls/dungarees are a big trend this Summer. Some people love them, others hate them. I personally think they're extremely cute, as long as they're styled well. I decided to pair my black overalls with a black and silver sequined tube top to dress it up a bit. As for my shoes of choice, I decided to go with my white low-top Converse.

What I'm Wearing:
  • Overalls - Dr. Jays
  • Black/Silver Tube Top - Morgan Joyce
  • White Low Top Sneakers - Converse

Looking back at this outfit, it kind of remind me of an edgier version of Ariana Grande's outfit in her "Baby I" music video haha, what do you guys think?

Kawaiiland NYC 2014

Hey everyone! If you like Street Stride on facebook, then you probably already know what's about to go down ;) Last Friday, (July 25, 2014) was one of the best days of my life. Why, you ask? I was given the opportunity to model for THREE amazingly talented designers for the Kawaiiland fashion show at Stage 48. If you're not familiar with Kawaiiland, it is a traveling event promoting Japanese fashion and culture.

Kawaiiland has to be the BIGGEST show I've ever been a part of and I'm so grateful to have had this opportunity. Everyone I worked with and met there were cool and a lot of fun to be around. I had such an amazing time and hope to be back again next year! Check out this quick mini vlog I did with some behind the scenes footage here:

Those are the only photos I found from the show so far. There were plenty of photographers there, so I'll be on the look out for more photos. Once I find them, I'll update this post. I'll also make sure to let you all know via facebook that I've added some new content, so be on the look out for that. I also want to give a quick shoutout to my amazing makeup artist, Alegra Titus as well as the hairstylists at Misin Shin Salon for making us models look fabulous. As always, thank you all for reading. Hope you all have a lovely week!

Out & About

Ahh, who doesn't like a good off guard picture?  I know this is only my third post, but have you guys noticed a pattern? If you follow me on instagram, you'd probably know that my hands are almost always in my hair.. I just can't leave it alone, haha. Anyway, I decided to put together a quick OOTD for you guys. I didn't do anything too exciting today, but I did try Chipotle for the first time!! Now I finally understand what all the hype is about. Their chicken burritos give me life!

What I'm Wearing:
  • Leather Trim Crop Top - Strawberry
  • High-waisted Paperbag Shorts - Don't remember :/
  • Necklace - Forever 21
  • Pointed Ballet Flats - Aldo
  • Random black watch my dad gave me :P

Faith

Today was another pretty casual day. The weather was a lot cooler than a typical Summer day, so I was able to bring out my favorite pair of ripped jeans! Anyone who knows me personally knows that I've had these jeans for years, and I just can't remember where I bought them. However, I was looking through Forever 21's website and they have a HUGE selection of distressed denim for extremely affordable prices. All my denim loving ladies can go check them out here!
As for my shoes, I decided to go for some cute booties I got from Dr. Jays to kind of dress up the look a bit. What about that bag you ask? I got my black and gold tote from eBay for less than $40! I know some people might be against eBay, but I strongly suggest you give it a try because you will run into some GREAT finds. Lastly, I got my graphic tee from Forever 21. This tee is one of my favorites because of the distressing. It adds just the right amount of edginess without being too revealing.

Kimono & The City

Yesterday I went on a movie date with my boo to see Dawn of The Planet of The Apes (which was amazing btw!) The weather was way too nice to head back home, so we went for a stroll around the city. I decided to keep things simple and comfy wearing my favorite kimono. I paired it with a crop top from Forever 21, high-waisted jean shorts from Dr. Jays, and pointed ballet flats from Aldo.
